Georgetown Police Explorers Open House Oct. 16

The Georgetown Police Department Explorers Post #152 is under new leadership and will hold an open house on October 16. The event will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Georgetown Communications and Technology Building at 510 E. Ninth Street.

Young men and women who are interested in learning more are invited to attend. Explorers Post #152 is open to men and women age 14 through 20. The post is sponsored by and affiliated with the Georgetown Police Department.

What is Law Enforcement Exploring?

Exploring is a young adult career education program of learning for life. Law enforcement exploring is an action-oriented, hands-on career discovery program centered on law enforcement careers.

Explorers get involved in a range of activities like team competitions, crime prevention activities, community policing, traffic control, fingerprinting, ride-alongs, and patrol procedures. Other activities include events at high schools, with the court systems, or at national, state, or local academies. Exploring is a division of the Boy Scouts of America.
