Breakfast Bites with Southwestern Coaches May 2

Come find out about Southwestern University athletics and how you can be involved with the launch of varsity football and lacrosse programs this fall. Southwestern coaches will talk about their programs and opportunities for community involvement at the next Georgetown Main Street Program quarterly Breakfast Bites training on May 2.

Southwestern University Director of Athletics Dr. Glada Munt will introduce the coaches including: Joe Austin, football; Matthew Grosso, women’s lacrosse; Bill Bowman, men’s lacrosse; Hanna Long, women’s basketball; and Kerri Brinkoeter, women’s basketball.

Discussion will include an overview of the athletic programs as well as upcoming downtown events and opportunities to help support Southwestern University’s connection to the Georgetown Square. The City of Georgetown and Southwestern will sponsor two pep rallies on the Courthouse Square next fall. The first pep rally is Friday, September 6 on the evening before the first Southwestern football game. The second pep rally will be the evening of Friday, November 1 before the Homecoming football game.

The Breakfast Bites event on Thursday, May 2 is from 8:30 to 9:50 a.m. in the Friends Room on the second floor of the Georgetown Public Library at 402 W. Eighth Street. The cost of the event is $10 per person at the door and includes breakfast and networking, which starts at 8 a.m.

The Georgetown Main Street program which started in 1982 seeks to enhance downtown vibrancy and historic preservation by using the National Trust Main Street Center’s Four-Point Approach of organization, design, economic development, and promotions. Main Street is a program of the City of Georgetown Downtown & Community Services Department.
