Lone Star Rail Moving Toward Regional Commuter Service

Downtown Parking Proposal: 3-Hour Limit, Reduce Fines

Update: At their Tuesday meeting, the city council did not suspend the current 2-hour limit on downtown parking. Sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s provided a perfect backdrop for the two-day Art in the Square festival this weekend. Artists from across the country displayed their work in the streets around the Courthouse Square in Georgetown. City Website: Top 3 in U.S.

The City of Georgetown’s website was one of the top-three finalists for the best city website in the U.S. for medium-sized cities (pop. 35,000 to 100,000). The site was a finalist for the Pinnacle Award from the National Association of Government Webmasters at their annual conference in September in Galveston.

Electronics Manufacturer Starts Construction on New Facility

Funding for Lakeway Drive Bridge on CAMPO List: Public Comment on April 29

A new Lakeway Drive Bridge over Interstate 35 is one project being considered for funding by the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization. State Repayment Sought for FM 1460 Widening

Company with Cancer-fighting Agent Joins Life-sciences Center

Federal Grant for Southwestern Funds Lab Equipment at Life-Sciences Center

Southwestern University has received a $461,340 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to purchase laboratory equipment for the Texas Life-Sciences Collaboration Center, a nonprofit educational entity that is a partnership of Southwestern, the City of Georgetown, and the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce.
