Animal Shelter Seeks Donations for Garage Sale
Starting on February 22, the Georgetown Animal Shelter is accepting donations for the Annual Garage Sale, a benefit organized by the Friends of the Georgetown Animal Shelter to be held in April.
Bring donations to the rear of the former Georgetown Library Building at 808 Martin Luther King, Jr. Street (see location map below). The back of the former library is on West Street between Eighth and Ninth Streets.
Donations can be delivered on Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m., starting February 22, or Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., starting February 25. Items will be accepted each Wednesday and Saturday from February 22 through April 18.
Volunteers will be available to accept donations at these times. There will be signs directing you to the drop off locations. Donation receipts will be available.
New or gently-used furniture, decorator items, bicycles, antiques, and collector items are good items to donate says Jackie Carey, animal services manager. Note that clothing items, televisions, and computers are not accepted.
The 13th annual Georgetown Animal Shelter Garage Sale will be held on Friday and Saturday, April 20 and 21 at the Community Center at 445 E. Morrow Street in San Gabriel Park. Sale hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. All proceeds benefit animals at the Georgetown Animal Shelter.
You may contact the shelter by phone at (512) 930-3592 or by email at animalsvc@georgetown.org. The Georgetown Animal Shelter website is pets.georgetown.org.
