City Council Election for District 3 in May

District 3 will be the only contested seat in the city council election on May 8. Keith Brainard, the incumbent, filed on Friday and will seek re-election for District 3. Danny Meigs filed for the District 3 seat earlier in the filing period, which ended yesterday.

Bill Sattler, the incumbent for District 4, filed earlier and will seek re-election. Tommy Gonzalez is running for the council seat for District 7. Ben Oliver, incumbent in District 7, is not seeking re-election. Gonzalez and Sattler are unopposed in their respective races. March 15 is the filing deadline for write-in candidates.

District 3 includes the southwest area of Georgetown, District 4 includes the northwest side of the city, and District 7 includes the southeast side. To see maps of council districts, go to maps.georgetown.org.
