Share

March 8th, 2010 by Shawn G

Doing some spring cleaning? If you’ve got new or gently-used items in your home, consider helping out our homeless animals by donating them to the Garage Sale fundraiser benefitting the City of Georgetown Animal Shelter, now in its 11th year.

Beginning February 10, you may bring donations during the specified times to the rear of the old library building on West St. between 8th and 9th streets.  Volunteers will be on hand on Wednesdays between 1 and 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donation receipts are available upon request.

Furniture, decorator items, bicycles, antiques, and collector items are good items to donate says Jackie Carey, acting animal shelter manager and coordinator for the annual sale. Note that clothing items and computer equipment are not accepted.

The 11th annual Georgetown Animal Shelter Garage Sale will be held on Friday and Saturday, April 16 and 17 at the Community Center in San Gabriel Park. Sale hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day.

All proceeds benefit homeless animals at the Georgetown Animal Shelter and Georgetown Animal Outreach.

You may contact the shelter by phone at (512) 930-3592 or by email at animalsvc@georgetowntx.org.
