Frost Students Visit City Hall for Read Across America
Today students, teachers, parents, and community members read Green Eggs and Ham at Frost Elementary school as part of Read Across America, a national program to promote reading. Yesterday morning before school, Mayor George Garver read a proclamation at City Hall to commemorate the event.
After the proclamation, the mayor joined students, parents, and faculty from Frost Elementary for some photos. The students brought their own green eggs and ham, Cat in the Hat hats and stuffed animals, and Dr. Seuss books for the occasion.
Today’s event also coincides with the birthday of Dr. Seuss, who was born on this day in 1904. Learn more about Read Across America, a national program sponsored by the National Education Association, at www.nea.org/readacross.

It is so nice of the City of Georgetown (especially Mayor Garver) to take time to prioritize the education of our kids. This sends the message that education (READING), and our children of Georgetown, are important. Thank you!
