New Programs Offered at the Georgetown Recreation Center

The Georgetown Recreation Center is excited to announce the addition of several new programs that will kick off this Spring!

Triathlon Training Class: Challenge yourself to achieve your personal best. Calling all interested men and women for a 12 week triathlon training at the Georgetown Recreation Center! Training is led by our team of highly trained, certified professionals and triathletes.  The challenge will end with participation in  the Lake Pflugerville Triathlon on June 20, 2010. Care for the Core Class: Care for your core through strength and stretch. This class will provide proven fundamental exercises to strengthen your back, buttocks, stomach and sides. The movements are based on the techniques of Joseph Pilates. Engage your core, stretch, breathe and relax your way into the New Year!  Beginner friendly. Class is led by certified Pilates Instructor and Personal Trainer, Maureen Alonzo. New classes begin monthly with the first session beginning on February 4. Care for the Core meets from Noon – 1:00 pm on Thursdays. Fees: Resident $45 / Nonmember Resident $52 /Nonmember Nonresident $57

Stroller Mamas: For moms to be or babies on board, this class is for you! Class includes intervals of cardio with strength training. The class is led by Ali Webb, certified spin, group and yoga instructor. The class meets Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10:15 am – 11:00 am. First session begins on February 4. Fees: Members- $40 /Nonmember R-$46 /Nonmember Nonresident- $51

Functional Fitness: This advanced pilates class will work specific muscle groups to  engage stability through the core.  Develop more tone and definition in your physique while strengthening the muscle systems you use for everyday activity.   The use of  weights, stability balls, and bands will impact your overall strength and shape of your body.  Class is led by Jackie Holcomb.  She holds extensive certifications in Pilates, Group Fitness, Nutrition, and Yoga. Class begins on January 7 and meets on Thursdays from 5:00 pm – 5:45 pm. Pay per class or purchase a punch card!

Mommy & Me Yoga: Mommy and Me Yoga class offers bonding time, while learning the life long skills and techniques of yoga.  Class is based on the ancient fitness science of Hatha Yoga. A practical user friendly style for all fitness levels. Children ages 2-6 years. Class led by Ali Webb, certified Yoga, Spin and Group Fitness instructor. Class meets Monthly beginning on February 4 on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 11:15 am -Noon. Fees: Member: $40 / Nonmember Resident: $46 /Nonmember Nonresident: $51.

Yoga for Beginners: Enjoy the benefits of Integral  Yoga. Kitara Byerly will lead  this beginner yoga class for all levels.  The class will emphasize form and relaxation. It is an excellent way to stimulate the metabolic system to achieve true, deep relaxation. The class meets on Wednesdays from 7:15 am – 8:00 am. Pay per class or purchase a punch card!

Teen Speed & Agility Spring Break Camp: Teens will develop skills to improve health and overall body image.  Join this indoor/outdoor camp for cardio conditioning, muscular endurance and strength, flexibility and balance. All training is developed within a positive environment. Class is led by Bobby Craig and Joshua Parkhurst, certified personal trainers. Ages 12-18 years
