Citizen Participation Plan Underway
The City of Georgetown is developing a Citizen Participation Plan to encourage more public participation in the governing and planning process. The purpose of this plan is to improve education, communication and participation between the citizens of Georgetown and the City Government. City staff has begun work with a citizen advisory group and hopes to complete the plan by early next year. More information can be found at http://participation.georgetown.org or by contacting Jordan Maddox in the Planning Department at (512) 930-3584.
A public meeting will be held at the Georgetown Public Library upstairs classroom on December 9th at 6 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to look at existing participation efforts and opportunities, generate feedback on utilizing various methods of communication and processes, and explore new ways that the City can encourage more participation. Staff will also explain the objective of this plan, how it is being formulated, and its place in the broader 2030 Comprehensive Plan.
Please take a few minutes to fill out a brief survey. It is crucial for this plan to gain the input and fresh ideas of the public. We want to hear your opinions!
