Fire Department Pink Ribbon T-Shirts on Sale
Special pink ribbon T-shirts with the motto “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” are on sale at the Visitor Information Center, all Georgetown fire stations, and online. The T-shirt sale is a fundraiser by the Georgetown Fire Department and Georgetown Firefighters Association for the Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas, a local nonprofit that provides education and support for women with breast cancer.
The shirts for sale at the Visitors Center and Fire Stations are $15. The shirts available for purchase online vary in price. All profits will go to the Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas.

The pink ribbon T-shirts also are a way to build community support for the Pink Heals Tour ’09, which comes to Georgetown on October 21. A crew of firefighters is touring the U.S. in a pink fire truck to raise awareness for the fight against breast cancer. “Cares enough to wear pink” is the theme of the national tour which is being supported by communities across the country. The Georgetown Fire Department and Georgetown Firefighters Association are sponsoring the stop in Georgetown.
To find out more about the Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas, go to their website at www.bcrc.org. The BCRC provides education and direct patient and family support for women in treatment for breast cancer.
For more information on the T-shirts and to see more photos, go to the Pink Heals Tour page.

Our staff will all be getting shirts from the Fire Dept to wear on that day. Great job. Your friends at Georgetown Winery
As the mother of a firefighter, and a breast cancer survivor, thank you for your support!
My sister Ruby Valdez has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. I wanted to thank the fire station who gave my sister the pink t-shirt. She called to tell me that a Georgetown fire station was thinking about her and wanted her to have the pink t-shirt. I would mention the fire station, but we dont know who? I give great praise to all City of Georgetown fireman for wearing pink.
