The City of Georgetown’s website was one of the top-three finalists for the best city website in the U.S. for medium-sized cities (pop. 35,000 to 100,000). The site was a finalist for the Pinnacle Award from the National Association of Government Webmasters at their annual conference in September in Galveston.

Convention and Visitors Bureau Wins Six Awards
Georgetown’s Convention and Visitors Bureau won six first-place awards this summer at the annual Texas Association Convention and Visitor Bureaus convention. Georgetown CVB won awards in the following categories:

Art for Animals Benefit Art Auction on October 18

Eagles Post-football Game Party for GISD Students, Sept. 25

Animal Shelter Staff Caring for Sick Dogs
The City of Georgetown Animal Shelter is temporarily suspending adoptions of dogs due to canine respiratory illness at the shelter. New dogs brought to the shelter are being kept in a separate area from affected dogs in order to contain the illness.
