Music! Live @ the Library — Upcoming Performances
The Georgetown Public Library’s live music series is scheduled now into the fall. These events are casual, come-and-go affairs, so you may listen as briefly or as long as you like. Mark your calendar for these Sunday afternoons:
June 28, 2:30 – 4:30 – Just Friends Group of Sun City. Just Friends have made a name for themselves as a dance band and we’re encouraging you to take a few turns on the library dance floor while they play. They play jazz standards and we know you’ll at least be tapping your toe! This performance is a gift of the Friends of the Georgetown Library.
July 19, 3:00 – 5:00 - Hill Country Winds. The Hill Country Winds octet is composed of oboes, clarinets, horns, and bassoons and their program will include pieces by Mozart, Salieri, Farkas, Gabrieli, and Kromer. And these folks are philanthropists! They’re donating their performance.
August 16, 2:00 – 3:30 - Eliot Wilde, Classical Guitarist. The library staff has watched Eliot’s musical talent develop as he has grown up. The past couple of years he has performed here with Austin Bella Corda and now we’re delighted to present him on his own, a full-fledged guitar professional. He’ll play classical, Baroque, modern, and even some romantic pieces. His performance is a gift of Pedernales Electric Cooperative.
September 20, 2:00 – 3:30 – Vagabones Trombone Quartet. Vagabones will entertain you with a diverse repertoire-from Renaissance to classical to jazz standards, with a few marches thrown in for good measure. These fine gentlemen are donating their performance.
