basket2Looking for a fun, new activity this summer? Why not try Disc Golf! The Georgetown Parks and Recreation Department maintains a nine-hole disc golf course in San Gabriel Park and Pinnacle Park, and a challenging disc golf course in Rivery Park. These courses are free to the public!

Disc golf – also called Frisbee Golf – is a disc game in which individual players throw a flying disc into a basketb or target. The object of the game is to traverse a course from beginning to end in the fewest number of throws of the disc. It’s a fun game for all ages and athletic abilities!

Disc golf offers many of the same pleasures of regular golf: fresh air in a beautiful landscape, the camaraderie of friends, and the challenge and excitement of combining personal skill and speed to project an object toward a target.
