Fire Prevention on the Square: Workshop on September 24
In 1998, a fire nearly destroyed the historic Lockett Building on the Square. Luckily no one was injured in the fire and the exterior walls were left intact. The building was soon renovated and is now home to the County Seat restaurant.

Child Safety Seat Inspections on September 20
According to research by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, three out of four child safety seats are improperly installed in vehicles. Firefighters Get a Hand on Sept. 11
The firefighters on C shift at Georgetown’s Fire Station 1 were pleasantly surprised on September 11 when four employees from HEB stopped by to help at the station. City Parks Closed at Dusk
Closing hours for Georgetown city parks went into effect on September 10. Park hours are dawn to dusk for neighborhood parks without lights, unless posted otherwise.
San Gabriel Park closes at midnight, while lighted courts for basketball, tennis, volleyball, and skating close at 11 p.m. daily.
