Williamson County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo June 27 and 28

The 65th annual Williamson County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo is this weekend, June 27 and 28 at the rodeo arena in San Gabriel Park.
Friday and Saturday events include the Mounted Drill Team, rodeo clowns, mutton bustin, the calf scramble, kids corral area, and the HEB Steer Saddling Challenge. The show starts at 8 pm both nights. [...]

Sculpture Will Enhance Downtown Square

Memorial Day Service at Veterans Memorial on May 26

The names of two Williamson County veterans who were killed in the war in Iraq, Army Capt Sean Lyerly of Pflugerville and Army Spc Matthew Morris of Cedar Park, will be added to a monument in a Memorial Day service in Georgetown. Lyerly, 31, was killed in a helicopter crash near Baghdad in January 2007. [...]

New Phone Number for Police Records

Pools Open for Summer Season

The City of Georgetown’s five swimming pools will be open for Memorial Day weekend on May 24, 25, and 26. Regular summer pool hours begin on Saturday, May 31. The City swimming pools will be open for the summer season through August. Admission is free on Saturday, May 24.

Memorial Day: Offices Closed, Pools Open

City of Georgetown offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, May 26 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. There will be normal trash and recycling pickup. City swimming pools will be open. Details below.

Fire Chief Anthony Lincoln Retires on May 16

On his first day as a full-time Georgetown firefighter back in 1979, Anthony Lincoln reported for duty at 7 a.m. After a 90-minute orientation from Wilburn Barker, one of the other full-time firefighters at Fire Station 1, Barker tossed the keys to the 21-year-old and said, “It’s yours,” leaving Lincoln on his own.

Seasonal Insect Abatement Begins May 23
