I-35 Lane Closures on March 26

The main lanes of Interstate 35 at Texas 29/University Avenue in Georgetown will be closed starting at 9:00 in the evening on Wednesday, March 26. Traffic will be diverted to the frontage roads. The I-35 main lanes should re-open by 6:00 in the morning on Thursday, March 27.

The Texas 29 bridge over I-35 also will be closed for the construction. Texas 29 traffic will be detoured via the I-35 frontage roads. Texas 29 is exit 261 on I-35 in Georgetown.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the I-35 main lane closures are to allow for contractors to place bridge beams for the turnaround structures at Texas 29/University Avenue.

Construction on the two turnaround structures at Texas 29 began last summer.
