2030 Comprehensive Plan to Council in February

Burn Ban Lifted for Williamson County

Update, December 12, 2007:
Effective immediately, the burn ban has been lifted for unincorporated areas of Williamson County.
Outdoor burning is not allowed at any time within the City Limits of Georgetown, unless the Georgetown Fire Department has issued a permit authorizing an outdoor burn.

City Closings for Thanksgiving Holiday

City of Georgetown offices will be closed on Thursday, November 22 and Friday, November 23 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. The Georgetown Public Library will be closing at 6:00 in the evening on Wednesday, November 21. There will be no trash collection on Thanksgiving Day (details below).

Former Fire Chief Jesse Lozano 1926 – 2007

Jesse Lozano, who served as fire chief for the Georgetown Fire  Department from 1963 to 1971, died on Wednesday. Lozano, who was 81 and lived in Georgetown, was the first Hispanic firefighter to serve as fire chief for the Georgetown Fire Department.
